BUYING GUIDE
Which Breathalyzer Is Right for Your Project?
Rather than calling any single product the “best breathalyzer” for everyone, Airsense recommends matching each device to the target market and intended use.
Want the smallest fuel cell device?
Start with K1. Its compact body, standalone operation and 200 records support a simple personal-use product range.
Explore K1 →Need a portable fuel cell model?
H3 offers a lightweight format, UK Dart sensor and 2,000 records, with Bluetooth available as an option.
Explore H3 →Need pump-assisted sampling?
H3 Pro adds a pump in a handheld format. S1 also uses pump sampling, with larger data capacity and a replaceable sensor.
Explore H3 Pro →Need a more extensive professional platform?
S1 combines pump-assisted sampling, 10,000 records, built-in Bluetooth and a replaceable fuel cell sensor.
Explore S1 →Prefer semiconductor sensing?
A5 provides a personal breathalyzer platform with built-in Bluetooth, 500 records and specified warm-up behavior.
Explore A5 →SENSING TECHNOLOGY
Fuel Cell vs. Semiconductor Breathalyzers
K1, H3, H3 Pro and S1 use electrochemical fuel cell sensing. A5 uses a planar semiconductor sensor. These platforms can differ in selectivity, warm-up requirements, ongoing service needs and the testing experience.
Sensor type alone is not a complete accuracy claim. Sampling, calibration, firmware and test conditions also matter when evaluating a breath alcohol tester.
